Kathmandu . Senior Nepali tourism entrepreneur and social activist Tejendra Sharma Poudel has been appointed as the Honorary Consul General of the Nation of Hawaii for Nepal. Nation of Hawaii is the 50th Nation in the United States.

Sharma, who has been active in the tourism sector in Nepal for the past three decades, was appointed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Nation of Hawaii, Yousef Ehadden.

Ehadden said Poudel had been appointed to expand bilateral and trade relations between the two countries, believing in Poudel’s integrity and ability. He is confident that Sharma’s appointment will further expand between the two countries in the areas of tourism, trade and social service etc.

Poudel expressed his commitment to take special initiative to deepen the relations between the two countries.He said that he would work for the development of tourism, trade, social services and bilateral relations between the two countries.

Sharma, who is also the chairman of Village Tourism-Nepal (VITOUN), has been active in tourism for three decades.He is the Consul of Ukraine and Senior Adviser to the UNPKFC (Headquarters Thailand), an organization active in human and social services. Similarly, the Governor of IUKAC is also the honorary consul of New Spain.
